Reports To: Director IT of Cybersecurity
Location: Dallas, Hybrid
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Administrator to join our growing IT team. Who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. This role involves designing small to complex networks, ensuring the smooth operation of network systems, troubleshooting network issues, and optimizing network performance. This individual will be part of our internal and external IT teams and work with the rest of the team to deploy network solutions that align with the organization's goals and security requirements. They also monitor network activity, analyze network traffic, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Designing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software components.
- Installing and upgrading network equipment and systems.
- Monitoring network performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support to end-users.
- Implementing security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Managing network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory.
- Collaborating with IT teams to implement network solutions that support business objectives.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as backups and updates, to ensure network reliability.
- Conducting network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Providing training and support to staff on network-related technologies and best practices.
- Maintain technical knowledge through self-study or other approved training and development opportunities.
- Available to support during emergencies outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as network engineer for mid to large company.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- CCNA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static routing, etc.,)
- Proficiency in network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Experience with network management, monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SNMP, PingPlotter).
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures (e.g., firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and network services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, DNS).
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to translate technical jargon for non-technical peers.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must be highly organized and possess exemplary time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must display and be willing to take initiative in resolving network issues.
- Position involves walking and standing for an extended number of times.
- Ability to lift, bend, twist, and be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.
- Lift up and pull boxes upto 50 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, means of transportation and be able to travel independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent professional experience
- Data Center experience highly preferred; construction management experience required
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction practices and procedures
- Effective presentation development and communication skills
- Proficiency with construction management tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar.
- Competitive salary range of $85K-$100K and performance bonus program
